Tech Machiavellian: A Little Introduction.
Welcome to the Tech Machiavellian!
I am Daniyusra, and some may know me as a writer in fan fiction.
But today, I decided to try something new, and therefore I recycled this old blog of mine that was originally a journal into a collection of personal (hopefully) intellectual writings.
This blog will contain 'writings' of mostly socio-political content with topics chosen to the writer's liking with the aim of discussion and education. The writer hopes to be able create quality writings with quality references and citations from across the world.
That should be a good enough introduction. I hope you will enjoy my writings and I hope I can enjoy writing here!
Small Q&A Section to help you familiarize:
Q: Why is the name 'Tech Machiavellian? chosen?
A: It's a name that came almost immediately with the idea of having my own space where I can publish my writings. It is basically a combination of two ideas: Tech and Machiavellian. The 'tech' comes from my field of study that is programming and technology, while 'Machiavellian' is a term that refers to Nicollo Machiavelli who is the father of modern political science, which I chose to reflect the 'political science' interests that I have within me that I wish to express through this canvas (among other things). Plus, it has a necessary 'edge' to it.
Q: Why now? Why not previously?
A: So in the place where I am currently studying (Fasilkom UI), there is something called the Student Executive Body, or BEM as Indonesians call it. There is a division within the BEM that specializes in social and politics relating to the work of the government called 'Kajian dan Aksi Strategis' (Kastrat because no literal translation captures the edginess of Kastrat). In Kastrat, I got a chance to demonstrate my essay-writing skills, and to be honest, it was exhilarating. I want to continue writing these sort of stuff, even when not under Kastrat!
Q: Why the bilingualism?
A: As I mentioned above, I wrote several times for Kastrat and may continue to do so in the future. Because I am lazy, I decided that if anything were to be posted for Kastrat, then it would be posted here. Since Kastrat content is written in Indonesian, I decided it would be better to keep it Indonesian so the original meaning was conserved. So, when I post something in Indonesian, it is most likely a recycle, and when I post something in English, it most likely original.
I suppose that is all I have to explain to you regarding this project of mine. If there is any interesting topics that I could cover in the future, please write in the comments!
Signing out,
Tech Machiavellian.
